Mechwarrior: Mercenaries
|
| |
(PC, 2002)
Cyberlore Studios continued the success of Microsoft's Mechwarrior franchise with the release of this stand-alone sequel to Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance.
I play the voice of the Solaris Competition announcer, Duncan Fisher. This character provides the play-by-play and "color" commentary of each match. In creating the persona of Duncan Fisher, I was inspired by the classic sportscasters Howard Cosell and Keith Jackson for their unique personalities and delivery style. The voice, however, is actually a variation of a Robert Stack impression. Described in various reviews as both "witty" and "verbose", the character has become a very recognizable figure in the gaming world.
Audio Samples
Duncan Fisher is just one of 18 different characters I portray in Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries. I have created a two minute "medley" of 15 of the voices I did for the game, including Duncan Fisher.
The other voices I did are for characters called "Lancemates." I had so much fun recording them that I compiled separate mixes of each of their voices.
Note: These samples are supposed to be radio transmissions so they may seem of low quality--but this is just how they sound in the game.
